Three Gorges Dam is located on the Yangtze River in central China. I am an environmentalist trying to prove that the Three Gorges Dam is a huge environmental nightmare. It is triggering landslides, altering entire ecosystems, and causing other serious environmental issues. Although this place is such an issue, it is located in between two breath taking cliffs and is used to prevent future floods and create hydroelectric power for the city. The dam is much bugger than another famous dam, on the Hudson River in Nevada. The many people and animals that lived there were forced to move away for the construction of the dam so all that can be heard now is the violent rushing of water. The Three Gorges Dam reveals that water can be very harmful as well as beneficial. Harmful in the way that it can cause massive destruction through floods and such. Beneficial because the water gives need nutrients to all living things, and can even create hydroelectricity with an amount of help from a dam. The relationship between the dam and humans varies from good to bad. On the good side it creates a renewable source of hydroelectricity and prevents flooding. On the flip side many people had to move away from their homes. All in all the Three Gorges Dam is very interesting.
